Palestine 06.09.2014

After Israel's attack on Gaza IHH not only supported Gazans by sending food and medical aid, but also began permanent project preparations aimed at the countries development.

IHH Gaza representative stated that within the next few days 2000 aid packages will be distributed. offficer also stated that the repair and construction of houses in Gaza will begin soon. The related projects will incorporate those who have had their homes destroyed or damaged as well.

officer noted that the project will include the construction of schools and mosques as well but because of "Israel's ban on the entry of construction materials, there will be a delay in the project."

officer reminded us that since 2007 Gaza has been experiencing a blockade of construction materials. " In 2013 they removed the blockade but later they blamed HAMAS's military for using the materials to build shelter. With this excuse they re-applied the blockade. Of course this is leading to unemployment in Gaza as well."

officer also added that they are currently sponsoring more than 10,000 orphans in Gaza. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Housing and Environment 15,671 homes in Gaza were shot by Israel; 2.276 completely collapsed while 13,395 were damaged.

IHH AND ITS AID

Since the very beginning of the attacks, IHH has provided $200 cash assistance to 1,000 families and $350,000 to the Ministry of Health.

While 5,000 families were left homeless during the attacks, beds and mattresses were distributed to 4,000 families. In addition, Ramadan dinner was distributed to 4,000 people.

Israel's 51-day war record: 2,148 martyred and more than 11,000 are wounded.
