Humanitarian Networks and partnership Weeks 2024 Event.
The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation together with its International Relations and Disaster management Departments participated in the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks 2024 on May 6-10.

The event, organized by OCHA in Geneva, Switzerland, serves as an important platform for building information-sharing networks, developing humanitarian aid operational capacities, increasing inter-institutional coordination, generating innovative solutions, and establishing collaborations.

This year's event included a session titled "Lessons taken  from the Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes in Türkiye". The experiences gained from the devastating earthquakes that affected Southeastern Türkiye and Syria in February 2023 were discussed. The session focused on how Sphere standards can be applied in disaster situations. Representatives from sphere, the Turkish Red Crescent and IHH spoke as panelists, sharing their experiences with the participants.

Information about IHH's work was shared

IHH Board Member Talha Keskin provided information about IHH's ongoing and past efforts during and after the earthquake. He elaborated on İHH'S coordination with AFAD and the collaborations with international organizations. He also emphasized the importance of humanitarian aid standards. Keskin stated that prior to the earthquake, personnel from various organizations had received training on Sphere Standards, and the IHH team had also received such training.

The event was attended by representatives from civil society organizations, academics, private sector representatives, UN agencies, and member states from many countries.
