IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is carrying on delivering aid it has raised in campaigns across Turkey and around the world to the aggrieved people of Syria.
Over the past days aid teams with IHH office in Hatay delivered to central neighborhoods of Aleppo 100 tons of flour, supplies of macaroni, rice, cooking oil as well as hygiene and baby kits.
The foundation has delivered 30 truckload of flour to Aleppo over the last two months. The 750-ton of flour supplies were delivered to bakeries in central Aleppo and surrounding villages that were distributing bread to the public free of charge.
Most of Aleppo lies in ruins
In addition to carrying out aid deliveries, IHH teams also made observations in the affected Aleppo neighborhoods and witnessed that central neighborhoods had been destroyed in bombardment by jets and tanks.
Among the targets hit were mosques and children’s playgrounds.
Inhabitants of Aleppo, which has a population of six million people, are either fleeing their homes for camps or seeking refuge in their relatives’ homes in other parts of the country.
Snipers unsettle the public
“Not only are jets of cruel Asad regime striking everywhere, but also snipers are firing shots indiscriminately. They unsettle us more than the jets. Many Syrians have been killed by sniper fire so far,” Aleppo resident Abu Bashir told IHH aid workers.
