The program was attended by more than 300 orphans, their mothers, local officials, IHH officials, press members, intellectuals and charity givers.
The one-day-long program began with the delivery of new clothes bought for orphans and continued with a small concert. The inauguration of the main program began with Quran recitation by an orphan.
The orphans enjoyed themselves very much as they sang local anthems and melodies. The program ended with a dinner which was eaten altogether. There was also a seminar organized for the orphans’ mothers on the same day.
Officials from the IHH’s partners in Djibouti said they organize such morale-boosting days in order to help orphans to overcome the problems caused by the absence of their fathers and that this situation does not affect their future lives.
IHH has been supporting 100 orphans in Djibouti through regular payments as part of its Sponsor Family System.
