11 international aid organizations, member to OIC’s 3-year-old Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid Department, gathered in IHH headquarters in Istanbul to discuss the situation in Kyrgyzstan. The main focus of the meeting was to establish the coordination of aid activities that are going to be carried out by international aid organizations regarding the latest situation in Kyrgyzstan.
Representatives of Qatar’s Red Crescent, Islamic Development Bank, Libyan, Sudanese and Saudi Arabian aid organizations attended the meeting which was held in Fatih office of IHH. Kyrgyzstan Consul in Turkey was also present during the meeting.
Durmus Aydin, Vice President and Foreign Affairs Representative of IHH, delivered a detailed presentation on IHH’s aid activities in the region. Durmus Aydin also provided the guests with information on the latest situation in the region.
At the meeting, conclusions were made on the identification of areas that need the most urgent aid delivery and the forms of aid that is going to be delivered to these areas in addition to the encouragement of both sides to reach a peaceful resolution in the region.
