35th aid truck to Syria

Dozens of nongovernmental organizations have given their support to IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which has dispatched its 35th truck of humanitarian supplies to Syria since the war broke out. Metropolitan Municipality of Bursa, Cultural and Solidarity Association for Belenören Village (BEL-DER), Ensar Foundation, and Beksiad each contributed one truck of relief supplies. Speaking during the ceremony in Bursa, Mayor Recep Altepe said: “IHH is assisting the downtrodden all over the world. It is appreciated for numerous successful humanitarian projects. We are sending our second truck of humanitarian materials to Syria via IHH.”

Altepe thanked Bursa inhabitants for their concerned stance towards the issue and added “Heinous attacks and massacres the Egyptian people have been subjected to should stop immediately. The events that have deeply shaken the Islamic world should be swiftly resolved.”

“We condemn Egypt massacre”

Chairman of Bursa IHH Humanitarian Relief Association Hüseyin Kaptan also delivered a speech at the ceremony. “Today we have gathered here to send humanitarian assistance to Syria; however, we will also make a statement to the press condemning violence by Egyptian security forces against the Egyptian people. We condemn the massacre that left thousands of our brothers and sisters dead or wounded,” Kaptan said.

He thanked all charity-givers for their contributions and added “On one hand we are happy over the humanitarian shipments sent to the region but on the other hand we are demoralized by the grave crisis Egypt is going through.”

Ensar Foundation Bursa Branch chairman Ahmet Oruçoğlu said: “We thank IHH for undertaking such a charity project. In this way we are practicing the act of donating alms that is obligatory according to the Quran.”

BEL-DER chairman Mustafa Çakar stated that they were sending their third truck of humanitarian assistance to Syria.

Aid to Syria to continue in Ramadan

“We are going to dispatch to Syria four or five trucks loaded with relief supplies on lailat al-qadr with contributions from Müsiad Bursa branch, Memursen Bursa branch, Bihmed Association, and volunteers of Emirsultan neighborhood. Together with these shipments, our project to send 10 trucks of assistance materials to Syria will expand,” deputy chairman of Bursa IHH Humanitarian Relief Association said.
