Good news from Agricultural School in Somalia
Education at an agricultural school in Somalia which was jointly opened by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) has been completed with 20 students.

The first stage of the education and agricultural applications at the school has been completed successfully after a period of four weeks.

Three agricultural engineers offer education to the students at the agricultural school. As part of the education program, the students stay at the school for six days a week and take one day off.
In addition to applied training, students are also offered theoretical education.

After a four-week-long education, students have learned to cultivate soil, grow seedling, weeding, irrigation, obtaining seeds and keeping them.

They have completed the education program and were given certificates after they learned how to grow vegetables in a dry climate, irrigation techniques, water conservation etc.

A greenhouse was established in Somalia for the first time with the project and vegetables such as yellow melon and eggplant were for the first time produced in the country. In addition, drip irrigation method has for the first time begun to be used in the country.
Students of the school are mostly from Afgooye and Jowhar regions of Somalia.

In the meantime, third graders at the Agricultural Faculty of Benadir University are offered applied agricultural training once a week.

Ships are ready, the Freedom Flotilla sail towards Gaza!
Bülent Yıldırım, the President of the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), inspected two purchased ships for the International Freedom Flotilla. Yıldırım stated, "This cargo ship has a capacity of 5,500 tons and its name is Anadolu. It will carry our country's aid and compassion to Gaza. The name of other ship is Vicdan (Conscience). This ship will accommodate conscientious activists from around the world and deliver the conscience of the world to the shores of Gaza."
