Orphans become guests in Diyarbakır
After İstanbul, Konya and Kayseri a programme was arranged in Diyarbakır for the children orphaned by wars, occupations, natural disasters and poverty.

The programme in Diyarbakır Ziya Gökalp Sports Complex at 19:00 was highly participated. Diyarbakır city Mufti Ali Melek and the representatives of NGOs in Diyarbakır also participated the programme. Programme started with Quran that Pakistani Hamza Şevket read.

Later in his speech the chairman of IHH Bülent Yıldırım by drawing attention that there were 143 millions of orphans in the world said, 5 millions of children were orphaned because of the war and destruction in Iraq.

Yıldırım said; “Every year 2,5 millions of children are kidnapped. Most of them are girls and over these girls they are earning money. Right now the organ mafia is moving towards the children without anyone. Even if nothing comes from our hands we say: Only touch the head of an orphan, meet the needs of an orphan.”

At the programme that the entrance was free, orphans coming from different countries performing their local folk dances sang their religious songs and songs.Orphans from Pakistan, Sudan, Lebanon, Kyrgyzistan, Ağrı and Diyarbakır participated the night. Singers Seyfullah, Ömer Karaoğlu, Alper and Fırkat Al Emcad from Lebanon sang their songs. The programme ended with the prayer for orphans.

Meanwhile the governor of Diyarbakır Avni Mutlu and the president of Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce Galip Ensarioğlu also welcomed the orphans at their offices.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continued its support for orphans in 2023, providing assistance to hundreds of thousands of orphans and their families. IHH reached over 137,000 orphans every month in 45 countries, including Turkey, through the regular contributions of generous donors. The foundation operated 42 orphanages, 1 orphan education center, and 1 educational campus in 12 countries, touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of children through various projects.
