The three physicians flew to Dominican Republic and crossed into Haiti from there. They have joined the international relief campaign launched after Haiti was devastated in a 7.0-magnitude earthquake. They will provide health services such as examinations and surgeries to earthquake survivors.
In the meantime, the IHH is carrying on relief works in the country. Earthquake survivors are being given water and food; 700 orphan children are provided with hot food three times a day. The foundation is looking for a safe building to shelter the orphans.
The quake razed the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince and its environs and killed over 100,000 people, wounding around 300,000.
