Corum And Sanliurfa Show Support To Izzet Sahin
People in the Anatolian cities of Corum and Sanliurfa held protests against Israel’s treatment of Izzet Sahin, West Bank representative of IHH who has been kept under arrest for 15 days.

Izzet Sahin, IHH’s West Bank representative, has been kept in custody for 15 days in a detention center belonging to the Israeli military. Izzet Sahin, who is also a student of Hebrew at Hebrew University, was taken into custody illegally despite the fact that he had all the necessary permits regarding his activities and stay there.

People from all walks of life react to Israel’s treatment of Izzet Sahin and protests are held throughout Anatolia. IHH volunteers in Corum and Sanliurfa, together with the representatives of various other NGOs, held a press conference regarding Izzet Sahin’s situation.

At the press conferences, IHH’s activities all over the world in over 120 countries and hundreds of projects realized by the Foundation for more than 18 years were mentioned of and tens of thousands volunteers who work towards achieving the Foundation’s goals were reminded. During the press statements it was also noted that Izzet Sahin is a humanitarian aid worker and his immediate release was requested. The crowd chanted slogans and carried banners and signs to protest Israel, during the press conferences. Protests ended uneventfully.
