The IHH has been carrying out projects for the improvement of the circumstances in Somalia, which has recently attracted the world’s and Turkey’s attention due the outbreak of drought in the country, for about 11 years.
In order to support agricultural activities in the country, the IHH donated generators to farmers while it helped 10 needy families to make their livings by providing 10 widows with vegetable trucks. IHH teams also donated cows to 10 needy families and corn milling machines to 10 other needy families in the region to help them make their living.
The foundation also provided sesame oil press machines to 10 families, horse-drawn carriages to 20 families and sewing machines to 10 families. The IHH also opened beverage shops for 10 families while providing the technical and educational support needed by the locals.
IHH plans to support farming in the region through an irrigation channel it will open in the region and support the locals with tractor donations so that the farmers in Somalia can begin mass production.
