IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation that is continuing its 2018 Ramadan activities with the slogan “Now is the Time to Share” is delivering aid to the Syrians during Ramadan as it has for years. In the first 20 days of Ramadan IHH distributed 15 million loaves of bread to Syrians as a part of this mission. Syrians living in the rural areas of Syria’s cities of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia benefitted from the bread distribution.
In a statement by Selim Tosun, IHH Syria Operations Media Representative, he said IHH was continuing to meet the bread demand of the Syrians.
Tosun, who explained that the bread was produced according to Syrian custom and so it will remain fresh for 3 days, said “We are continuing the distribution of bread during the month of Ramadan. In addition to Hatay, Kilis and Şanlıurfa, during Ramadan every day immediately before iftar we are distributing 750 thousand loaves of bread, that is produced in the bakeries we established in various regions of Syria, to families in the tent cities and villages on a daily basis.”
Tosun, who explained they have distributed 15 million loaves of bread during the first 20 days of Ramadan, said: “We distributed 15 million Syrian breads that were produced, on a regular basis to Syrians in the rural areas of the cities of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia. We will be continuing the distribution of bread during the last 10 days of Ramadan.”
Tosun also said that in 2018, IHH has distributed 115 million Syrian breads to war victim families in various regions of the country.
