In conjunction with the event organized by IHH and Orphan’s Smile Organization, some of the members of the Turkish Parliament and their families planted pine trees together with 360 orphans in Bosnia.
The MPs GülaySamancı, Osman Çakır, Sevde Kacar and Harun Karaca participated in the event, as well as the Turkish Consular in Mostar, Tolga Bermek and Mufti of Mostar, Seyid Smaykic.
Adıyaman MPs from AKP, Murteza Yetiş delivered a speech in the event and said: "We are here with Bosnian orphans to show that Bosnia which can be regarded as an orphan in this region is not alone. We will plant a tree for each orphan child. We will build the future of Bosnia together."
Merima Cono from Orphan’s Smile Organization said that they are making several activities in conjunction with "Orphan Solidarity Days" over the past 3 years.
Cono said that 360 orphaned children across Bosnia participated in the events organized in cooperation with IHH this year. She also expressed her gratitude to the Turkish MPs who travelled from afar to make Bosnian children smile.
As a part of the event, Bosnian orphans together with Turkish MPs visited historic and touristic highlights around Mostar.
